Anne of Green Gables

I read this book many years ago and read it to my daughter several times. But this summer I was able to visit Green Gables (yes, it was a real place!) and so I came home and re-read the first Anne book. I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first time I read it. Highly recommended!

Get Well Soon

This book was ok. It is about teens in a mental hospital and what goes on there. The book is the letters the main character writes to her best friend about what goes on in her life every day. I just did not really enjoy this book, some of our students might.

Gym Candy

I would give this book 4 stars. It is about a high school football player following in his father's footsteps and not wanting to disappoint him. It is easy to see how he gradually gets lured into taking steroids and the struggle of trying not to get caught. I think our students would enjoy this book.

Stitches

This book is a great book for our students who hate to read. I personally did not enjoy it as it was done in cartoon fashion and very little reading. It is a true story of a boy who grew up in a dysfunctional family. He had cancer and his parents kept it from him and how he struggled to make sense of it all.

Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy

I think our students would enjoy this book. It is about an elite all girls school, where girls are trained int he art of espionage. It really gets interesting when boys come to the school temporarily. In spite of starting off a little slow I did enjoy the book.
